Each week there is a three hour period starting at 5pm and the players are divided into three groups according to their ability. The cost is approximately £25.00 for junior members and £35.00 for adult members. Non members may join in if there are spaces available but they will be required to pay a court fee.
During the summer holidays further coaching is available for a week's block. Again there are three groups divided by the ability of the players.
Individual coaching or small groups of two or three players can be arranged privately with the coach or by contacting Ann Stearns on 01865 351334 - the coach organiser.
During the season there are various activities for adult members. These activities include friendly games on club nights and friendly matches arranged with other neighbouring tennis clubs. Adult members are encouraged to take part in the Start of Season Tournament and End of Season Tournaments, see Dates for activities during the season. Any adult wishing to have tennis coaching can join in the group coaching, see Coaching facilities, or individual coaching sessions can be arranging directly with the club's tennis coach or by contacting Ann Stearns on 01865 351334 - the coach organiser.
USE OF THE COURTS
Members and their guests may use the club courts on payment of their annual subscriptions which are due on the April 1st each year. Members may bring a guest to play tennis on 2 occasions each year.
Juniors (that is players under the age of 16 on April 1st), may use the courts between 5-6.30pm on Wednesdays when a member of the committee is available to supervise play.
The courts are reserved for adult players on Wednesday evenings from 6.30pm onwards - this is Club Night. At the end of each session, the game in progress - not the set - may be completed if there is someone waiting to play.
Tennis shoes or trainers must be worn on the courts at all times. Other types of shoes may damage the surface of the courts and are prohibited. All shoes with bars or studs are NOT allowed. NO ROLLER BLADING
Whilst cricket is in progress persons playing tennis do so at their own risk.
The committee shall have the power to arrange the holding of matches, tournaments and other competitions, and to reserve the courts for such purposes at their discretion.
Nets require care - they should not be over wound and should be lowered when play has finished
SECURITY
There is a padlock welded onto the gate of the courts. The padlock is opened by inserting the appropriate combination number.
The new number each year will be given to members on receipt of the annual fee. On no account should this number be divulged to anyone other then a member.
BOOKINGS
Bookings may be made at the village shop by kind permission of Sally and Bernie Meek. Bookings may be made in person during shop hours only - it is not possible to book by telephone.
Booking is recommended for organised play.
Members of the tennis club may book courts up to 6 days in advance.
Booked courts, which are not occupied 10 minutes after the start time, are then open to
other members.
Non-members may use a court if no members are playing - a fee of £5.00 per court, per hour is payable to the shop or a committee member.
Courts are bookable per hour, no one may book more than 2 consecutive hourly slots.
QUERIES
In case of any problems or queries please contact any committee member. See under committee members on the links.
