The Marriage Register of Tamworth shows that on 24th Sept.1765 John Pipe a bachelor married Ann Wheartley a spinster, the minister was Rev Banns, both signed the register though Ann signed Whately, the witness were Thos Shegley and Elizabeth Whately. This shows how names in records can change due to spelling, obviously she was Whately, and the witness was most likely her sister Elizabeth, with the same name, Whately. As we go back in history, often Pipe is spelt as Pipes and even Piper, In the early 1600's we get it spelt Pype.
John also has messuage land tenements and real estates at Libertys of Bonehill and Wilnecote
